The first version of White Heat Design, and also the first website we built using CSS – the de facto standard for styling modern, accessible websites. At the time of the build, curls and swirls had exploded in popularity amongst the web design community, thanks to designers such as Nick La of Web Designer Wall, and greatly inspired the design of the site.

The site was initially built as a way to familiarise ourselves with the CSS language and to house a fledgling portfolio that included some experimental websites and a couple of graphic design images, but has somehow managed to find its way onto over 50 CSS and web design galleries (and counting) including:

As proud of this as we are, the WHD business has grown disproportionately to the website and now requires a far more flexible and customiseable platform to work from. Hence we re-designed and re-branded to the style you are looking at now. We hope you see it as an improvement. Otherwise, we won’t be too happy!

You can still access the old site here, if you want to see how far we’ve come :)
