Responsive website redesign for expert in streamlining disorganised businesses

Nicola Laurie is a business systemisation expert based in Cheam, Surrey. She works with clients of all sizes to help them streamline their systems and processes to make them more efficient and profitable. Her old website didn’t do a great job of explaining what benefit her skills and strategies could be to potential clients and it offered a poor experience on mobile devices, so she asked us to redesign it.

The Result

Where the old website failed to clearly communicate what Nicola actually does, the new one brings a much clearer focus, with emphasis on the services available to prospective clients. The new site also allows Nicola more options for how she promotes her services.

The Design

The original MsTidyOwl website lacked credibility and didn’t feel professional when browsing it. So we focused on developing the branding and creating a more polished look. We opened up the colour palette and introduced more shades of green for more flexibility, as well as adding some custom designed icons to make it easy to distinguish the various plans on offer.

The old website had very little in the way of features and lacked options for Nicola to do any form of marketing. The new ones rectifies this in a few ways:

  • eBook Downloads: ability to offer free file downloads, for example a weekly planner
  • Integrated email marketing: users can sign up directly to Nicola’s newsletter to keep updated on her offers
  • Blog: to allow Nicola to publish content as regularly as she likes

“Working with White Heat Design has been an amazing experience from start to finish. I am a novice at web-site design (everything from what I needed to write to how I wanted it to look) but Xavier took me through it step by step, always answering any questions I had. I now have a web-site that I am proud of, one that I could never have created myself and someone that I can go to when something needs changing or updating. I would highly recommend them.”
